Synopsis: After the failure of consummating their marriage the week prior, Steve Rogers decides to brainwash his wife, Sharon, into loving him.
Characters: AU!Steve Rogers ([personal profile] notyourgerbil ) and Sharon Carter ([personal profile] throtteen ).

[Since marrying Steve Rogers and becoming First Lady of the “United States”, Sharon tries her best to stay out of the White House as often as possible. She takes to volunteering around the area and visiting the prisons that just so happen to hold her former comrades-in-arms. Even though she married Steve, she did it only to save her friends’ lives. He was threatening to execute Fury, Stark, Coulson, Hill, Romanoff, Barton, and some other former agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. until Sharon stepped in and offered her hand in marriage in exchange. That was over two weeks ago.

Three months before that, Steve had, somehow, conquered the United States. Sharon isn’t too sure on the details, since it had occurred with such swift complexity that Fury probably doesn’t know them either. The week prior, Steve had tried to consummate their marriage with... unsavory results. Instead of love and intimacy, he had gotten hate and coldness from her. After telling Fury about this, Sharon has learned to laugh about it though. She’s sure she won’t be in this situation for much longer. One should never think Fury and Stark have given up just because they lost. Fury is a tactical genius and, though she may not have any use for Stark and his costumed alter ego, she does have to respect the strength and skill it took for him to escape that Afghan prison camp. So, she doesn’t worry about this too much.

It’s shortly after midnight on the fifteenth day of her marriage and Sharon’s in her room, sleeping; the door and windows are securely locked and there are two guards stationed outside her door and outside her window. Even as his wife, Steve apparently trusts Sharon as far as him pre-serum can throw her.

Anyhow, Sharon’s sleeping in her room when five heavily armed HYDRA bursts through her door and drags her from her bed. It happens so suddenly that Sharon doesn’t know what’s happening until she’s being led down the zing-zangs of hallways, her head down the whole way.

After a few minutes of walking, they finally arrive at their destination, where Sharon is gently led through then tied to a cot. Honestly, it doesn’t surprise her when Steve enters a few seconds afterwards, followed by a man with the facial hair of a mountain man. She starts to spit out questions then insults. Sharon wants to know why and what she’s doing here, but the rushing of blood through her ears is too loud for her to hear his answer. She just continues to call him the worst names she can think of, red blinding her vision. With a smile directed at her, Steve silently leaves her alone with Rooster Cogburn. Sharon doesn’t like the vibe she’s getting off him, so she starts to call him names now.

The last thing Sharon Carter remembers is the man pulling out an eyeglass cleaner, mumbling about the weaknesses of men’s minds.

The tickling on her face from the sunlight peeking through the blinds of the window wakes Sharon up. She’s buried under a heavy duvet and she can faintly hear a shower running. It takes her a few moments to remember where she’s at; the memories of the past ten years begin to weigh heavily on her mind; Steve, HYDRA, conquering the United States, she remembers everything now. Giggling, Sharon stretches, her wedding ring tapping against the headboard of the bed, and feels for her husband next to her, instead finding emptiness.]
